Protect the Trolls!

Self-important celebs have been showcasing their immense stupidity, again. When David Tennant was photographed at some event or other wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with “You will have to go through me” in the baby pink and baby blue trans colours, it was an open invitation for some obvious responses. "OK, we will”, being the simplest. The t-shirt slogan was a stupid phrase anyway, but given that he had recently stood on stage at an awards ceremony and told the audience that the world would be a better place if Kemi Badenoch did not exist, he succeeded only in highlighting the outright misogyny in the message. It was an unveiled threat. More on this here.
But Tennant is not the only one. Exhibiting just how little imagination they have, in these past few weeks a glut of silly, self-important celebrities with more money than sense, have handed over 75 quid for a white t-shirt bearing the legend “Protect the Dolls”. The “dolls” of reference are in fact not dolls at all, but so-called transwomen. Or more accurately, blokes in frocks. Tilda Swinton shared a selfie, laying on a floor, crappy t-shirt front and centre, hand poised to blow a kiss, presumably to the “dolls”. I must confess, hers was the only name I knew on the list of others who have worn the empty-gesture-esque garment and been photographed and written about for their troubles; Pedro Pascal, Troy Sivan, Haider Ackermann, Addison Rae – anyone?
The showbiz world, alas, is full of these virtue-signalling idiots, who seize any opportunity to prostrate themselves at the feet of these ghastly, larping men, who get a kick out of dressing themselves up as women, and in claiming victimhood and oppression because of their “identity”. And vacant media outlets can’t get enough of praising them for it. I almost spat my coffee out when I was researching “Protect the Dolls” for this piece, and stumbled across Marie Claire’s online offering on the subject, where Sarah Holzman professed the campaign to be “more than a shirt”. She went on, warming to her overzealous enthusiasm for the tacky t-shirt, and claimed it to be “pure grassroots virality, and a lifeline for a community under attack.” Calm down, dear.
The overpriced t-shirt was apparently the brainchild of fashion designer, Conner Ives, who wore one at the finale of his Fall 2025 show during London Fashion Week. After his appearance in the garment, apparently a host of ‘slebs simply had to have one, and the orders flooded in. So, Ives got busy, stocked up on the plain white Fruit-of-the-Looms, and got printing.
What these empty-headed fools are failing to see is that the ridiculous slogan, despite Sarah Holzman’s interpretation of it as a “rallying cry” (lol), in fact highlights one of the main problems with this insidious ideology. Transwomen are men. Referring to them as “dolls” simply reinforces what TERFs like me have known all along, that the entire movement’s view of womanhood is one of fantasy and roleplay, where women are nothing more than dolls, existing for the sexual pleasure of men. Autogynephilic men who have tried desperately to rebrand themselves as “transwomen” are aroused by the thought of themselves as this fantasy version of women that they hold in their imagination. Academic writer Andrea Long Chu, a so-called transwoman, tellingly revealed exactly this when he wrote: “At the centre of sissy porn lies the arsehole, a kind of universal vagina through which femaleness can always be accessed”. He further asserts: “Distilling the femaleness to its barest essentials – an open mouth, an expectant arsehole, blank, blank eyes”. And there you have it. Men who believe this to be the barest essentials of femaleness are the “dolls” the celebs are so keen to protect. Chu, by the way, has won a Pulitzer prize. Go figure.
Of course, as with Tennant’s “You will have to go through me” efforts, the “Protect the Dolls” hashtag borne from these silly t-shirts has created a fabulous opportunity for TERFs to share the shit out of the most egregious examples of “dolls”. You know, the big, burly fellas in black lacy underwear, sporting wigs and heels, who can’t help prancing around on camera. Yeah. Those “dolls”. “Trolls” would surely be a more fitting description.
The dramatics exhibited by trans folx and their allies are now more tedious than ever, and their tantrums serve only to confirm that they are bullies. So, sit down, David Tennant. Sit down, Tilda Swinton. And sit down all the rest of you ludicrous, vacuous fools, who believe that being an actor or pop star elevates your opinions above those of us ordinary people. It doesn’t.
The movement these pugnacious celebrities have thrown themselves behind is crawling with criminally perverted men, who can’t believe their luck in receiving such support. The slogan Tennant et al should be screaming from the rooftops and emblazoning across overpriced tees is “PROTECT THE WOMEN AND GIRLS”.
